The Institute of Environment and Recreation Management held the IERM Convention incorporating National Cemeteries Conference at the Durban Exhibition Centre on 25 - 27 October 2011, it was hosted by eThekwini Municipality.

The Institute of Environment and Recreation Management (IERM) whose membership extends to over 1000 members within 100 local authorities had its Annual Convention on 19 – 21 April 2010 at the Indaba Hotel in Johannesburg.
