International Designations

CERTIFIED PARK PROFESSIONAL INTERNATIONAL (CPP-I)                                                                

This certification is awarded to professionals who regularly engage with the international Profession. The four parent competencies for CPP-I certification are: Transcontinental Park Management, global perspective, standards-based multidisciplinary issues, and global management approaches.

                                                                

CERTIFIED PARK PROFESSIONAL (CPP) 

Candidates may apply for a general CPP or a national variant of the CPP as articulated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with WPA. This certification is based on an 11-competency framework used to assess candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) 

The WPA provides several opportunities to earn CPD hours. In order to maintain certification, 30 CPD hours must be achieved within three years of CPP/CPP-I designation.

The WPA offers free monthly webinars, online courses, and opportunities to earn CPD hours.

All certificate holders become members of World Urban Parks and are expected to maintain ongoing professional development.
